Additionally, our Accommodation/Tenancy workshop is designed to support you in finding suitable rental accommodation. We can help you determine if undertaking tenancy obligations aligns with your tenancy agreement and individual needs.

The main goal of the workshop is to assist NDIS participants in finding or maintaining appropriate and safe accommodation. We understand the importance of suitable housing for your well-being.

2. Barriers to maintaining at-risk tenancies

Collaborating with relevant parties such as the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), agents, and property owners to identify barriers that may jeopardize a participant’s tenancy. Developing strategies to address and overcome these barriers.

3. Retaining current tenancies

Assisting participants in implementing strategies to retain their current tenancy, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to maintain a stable housing situation.

4. Finding alternative housing

Exploring and identifying alternative housing options that better meet the participant’s needs, preferences, and circumstances.

5. Private rental application support

Assisting participants in navigating the application process for private rentals, providing guidance and support to increase their chances of securing suitable housing.

6. DHHS rental application assistance

Providing support to participants throughout the process of applying for housing through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

7. DHHS bond loans

Assisting participants in obtaining DHHS bond loans, which can help alleviate financial barriers to securing housing.

8. Budgeting assistance

Providing support and guidance to participants in managing their finances, including budgeting for housing-related expenses

9. Utility relief grant coordination

Assisting participants in applying for Utility Relief Grants and communicating with utility providers to address any issues or concerns.

Encouraging participants to adopt sustainable practices in their independent housing, such as energy efficiency and environmentally friendly behaviors.
